Bosaina El Kahhal

THE VOGUE ERA

Styling a New Visual Language for Arab Editorial Media

Between 2016 and 2022, Bosaina played a pivotal role in shaping Egypt’s editorial language—operating at the intersection of styling, image strategy, and visual authorship during the emergence of Arab fashion media.

As one of the earliest and most visible contributors to Vogue Arabia under editor-in-chief Manuel Arnaut, she helped reimagine how Egyptian public figures were presented on global platforms. More than just styling multi-generational celebrities, she authored a framework for translating national icons into high fashion narratives—where none had existed before.

At a time when Egypt’s media landscape lacked access to world-class editorial storytelling, Bosaina bridged the aesthetic gap. Represented by SNAP14 Productions, she styled some of Vogue Arabia’s most iconic early features in Egypt, while extending her imprint across GQ Middle East, Harper’s Bazaar, Esquire, L’Officiel, and Numéro.

Yet her most impactful editorial legacy unfolded off-page.

Through The Fashion Studio, Bosaina built Egypt’s first professional styling pipeline—connecting education, media access, and talent development. Her students were not assistants, but credited contributors—placed directly into top publications and fashion campaigns. In doing so, she seeded a generational shift in the region’s visual culture, embedding care, rigor, and authorship into the editorial landscape itself.
